Cacao, Caramel & Protein Oats
All the best flavours in one filling, nutritious and mood boosting bowl!
Cacao is the raw form of chocolate and is a superfood with many benefits along with making us feel happy! I wrote a whole blog post on the benefits which you can find here. Adding cacao and protein powder to the porridge oats makes it so creamy and thick and will also keep you fuller for longer.
Ingredients
For the Oats
- 1 sachet of porridge oats – I use Quaker Oats so Simple Original
- 1-1.5 cups coconut or almond milk (depending on your preferred consistency)
- 1 tsp. sugar free caramel syrup
- 1 tbsp. cacao powder
- 1 tbsp. chocolate protein powder
For the Topping
- Handful fresh washed raspberries
- Sprinkle of sliced almonds
- Sprinkle of dark chocolate curls
Directions
- Mix the oats with the milk and pop in the microwave for 2 minutes or longer depending on the consistency you like
- Add the caramel syrup and mix well
- Slowly add the cacao powder mixing well
- Slowly add the protein powder mixing well
- Transfer to a clean fresh bowl (the mixing stages above can make quite a mess and if you’re anything like me, you like a nice clean bowl to eat from haha)
- Pop the raspberries, slices almonds and dark chocolate curls on top
