The Honestly Good Smoothie Company | Review

As you all know, I am a big advocate of living a healthy life and eating a healthy well-balanced diet, after all, that is what this blog is all about!

I absolutely love incorporating smoothies into my diet as a way of ensuring that my body gets the nutrients it needs, so you can imagine how excited I was when The Honestly Good Smoothie Company contacted me and asked if I would like to try their smoothies. Erm, yes please!!

A bit about the company

The Honestly Good Smoothie Company was founded by Vikesh Kotecha and his mum Neeta and the recipes are expertly formulated by a chef, Blake Bowden and a nutritionist, with balance and sustainability as their top priorities.

Honestly Good smoothies incorporate all sorts of wonderful organic fruit, vegetables, nuts, herbs, seeds & superfoods that you might not usually see in a smoothie, such as; cauliflower, sumac, maca root powder, baobab, cacao nibs, broccoli, kelp powder, hemp protein, tofu, dried mulberries, and sweet potato.

The smoothie packets arrive in a box with ice packs and even a little dry ice envelope to keep the ingredients frozen.

The box liners can be returned for re-use, and are 100% compostable, as is the box. The dry ice pack and the plastic pouches are 100% recyclable too.

The company is also working on developing compostable pouches and have plans for a returnable cool bag too so they are always trying to think of new ways that they can do their bit to help the planet. The ingredients used are all 100% Soil Association certified organic and they also also donate 2 meals to charity via Fareshare (per box delivered).

The company has been awarded Soil Association certification, making it live up to it’s name of being Honestly Good and Vikesh was even listed as one of their ‘organic heroes’.

“For me, Organic is all about protecting all we have to appreciate; our health, our air, our earth, and our waters. We’re all aware of damage that’s been done to our planet, and I think we all have a duty to do just our little bit. Being certified Organic is just one part of our little bit.”

Vikesh, Co-founder of The Honestly Good Smoothie Company

In order to buy the smoothies, you just sign up and subscribe on their website to purchase weekly, fortnightly or monthly deliveries to be delivered on either a Monday or a Saturday, whichever day works best and they are priced from £4.75 per serving which I think is a great price for superfood powders, organic fruit and veggie smoothies.

The Smoothies

I received five packs of smoothie ingredients; Choc Banana Sundae, Wake Me Up, The Whirling Dervish, The Smoothie Spice and The Waldorf Cool.

I made them using my Nutri Ninja smoothie maker, using coconut milk and I blended them for around 1.5 minutes.

They have a lovely thick texture so I kept adding a little more coconut milk until they were the right consistency for me.

Choc Banana Sundae

The first one I tried is the ‘Choc Banana Sundae’… anything with the word choc and sundae in has to be tried first, am I right?!! 😉

This smoothie mix contained banana, apple, blueberry and avocado and came with a little sachet with cacao nibs, coconut and red maca root.

It tasted creamy yet fruity and refreshing with a little delicate hint of chocolate and it was absolutely delicious. I could have drunk it all day long! I highly recommend trying this flavour!

Wake me up

This smoothie mix is made with sweet potato, apple, strawberry & rhubarb and comes with a little sachet containing almonds, mulberries, chia seeds and red maca root.

The combination of these flavours was so refreshing and I could really taste the apple and strawberry. I was a wondering whether the rhubarb would be a little strong for my tastes but it was actually really subtle.

The Waldorf Cool

This smoothie is made with apple, cucumber, kale and walnut and comes with a sachet containing flax seeds, hemp seeds and kelp seaweed.

I could really taste the cucumber and apple with a tiny bit of the walnut flavour coming through which was refreshing and delicious!

The Whirling Dervish

This smoothie is made with cauliflower, cucumber, apple, strawberry, medjool dates, orange zest, almonds, dried mulberries and sumac powder.

I was wondering whether you would be able to taste the cauliflower but I couldn’t at all. It was fresh and delicious and I could really taste the apple and strawberry. Another yummy combination!

The Smoothie Spice

Look at this gorgeous colour!! As the colour would suggest this one has beetroot in it and this gives it a slightly earthier taste than the other ones but it wasn’t overpowering at all.

The smoothie contains; apple, carrot and beetroot and came with a sachet of brazil nuts, ginger, goji berries, mint and turmeric.

My Final Thoughts

I really loved not having to think about what to put in a smoothie to make it healthy. The Honestly Good Smoothie Company takes the stress away from guessing which flavours will compliment each other and the addition of organic vegetables in the recipes mean that there as much lower sugar content which is much healthier for us.

Superfood powders can be really expensive to buy separately and with these smoothie kits, there’s no need to do that as they are included in each smoothie pack which is a wonderful idea.

I would highly recommend using these smoothies as a really convenient way of getting more fruit and vegetables into your diet.

With love, Tash ❤ x
