The Fruit Bowl Ritual ย

I feel like I’ve really got my shit together when I have a perfectly full and colourful fruit bowl ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŠ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฅ

I feel as though I am on top of my healthy eating game ๐Ÿ‘Œย and after the festive season and being a little more relaxed with the amount of chocolates, cookies, crisps and dips I’ve eatenย ๐Ÿ˜‹ I need all the vitamins and minerals I can get.

Fruit bowl from Costco ๐Ÿ‘Œ

With so many social plans in December coupled with the freezing cold weather and eating out way more than I normally would, my usual healthy diet went out of the window in favour of comforting stodgy food, glasses (bottles) of prosecco and, if I’m honest, way too many puddings ๐Ÿ™Š

I don’t have strict rules when it comes to eating anything. I don’t ‘diet’ and I don’t stop myself from eating chocolate if I want it but I do have a major sweet tooth and therefore need to try to limit sugary foods as much as possible. In December and throughout the holiday season this is much harder. Just putting up the Christmas decorations makes me want to nibble on the tub of celebrations (I pretend I bought for when people are visiting ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and sip on baileys ๐Ÿ˜€ and do you know what? That’s ok! I don’t beat myself up about it, or deprive myself, I eat it and I enjoy it. That’s the magic of Christmas and of not giving a second thoughtย to your cellulite because you are busy buying and wrapping gifts you bought for your family, imagining their faces when they open them and spending time with people you love. I work hard during the rest of the year to stay healthy so I give myself a break!

But the fun has to end somewhere.

The fruit bowl for the last week or so of December is usually empty with the odd browning abandoned banana but the ritual of filling of the fruit bowl makes me feel excited to fill my body with nourishing foods again. I know my body will thank me and my skin will glow again after breaking out in protest to all the sugar and processed foods I’ve been eating and by the 27th December, I’m usually ready for fresh fruit and a salad or two… what about you?

With love, Tash โค x

Your fruit display is so colorful! Putting fruit out where you can see it is a great way to remind you to eat it! You’re right, the fun has to end sometime. ๐Ÿ™‚

Cute set up! I just canโ€™t wait for the summer so prices on berries will lower & I can start making smoothies again.
